In Chapter 37 of the book Business Models for Collective Governance, the grand experiment builds the technical foundation for the application of the business models through a continuous science-basedparticipatory development process. Chapter 38, the concluding chapter, transforms the business models and the resulting integrated and inclusive development models into socio-economic development enterprises. The chapter starts by reviewing pieces of literature related to collective governance. In this concluding chapter, our own initiative to form a collective governance model for the Solidaridad 2020 Agenda, which is the inclusive four-part national investment agenda in Chapter 34, is charted. This institution is the Solidaridad 2020 Fellowship. its goal is to build the national institution responsible for carrying out the implementation of the inclusive development through collective governance.
Collective (sometimes ‘collaborative’) governance is an innovative model of governance that is solutions-oriented with a focus on public value, where diverse stakeholders can work in partnership to improve the management of public resources and the delivery of services. An important way in which collective governance is being manifested is in so-called multi-stakeholder initiatives (MSIs) that bring together government, civil society, and the private sector to address complex development challenges that no one party alone has the capacity, resources, and know-how to do so more effectively. In so doing, MSIs come to complement and not usurp the role of governments in achieving these ends. However, technical solutions alone can fail to achieve the desired transformation and enduring impact. Much more is required, but sees that MSIs can catalyze deeper citizen engagement, build trust, even help strengthen capacity across stakeholders, and they can foster better and more sustainable outcomes.” (Thindwa, 2015)
